Terms of Service
Last updated: date pending · Famarth
1. Acceptance
By creating an account, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Famarth.
2. What Famarth is
Famarth is a private-beta personal finance tracker for families: a shared ledger for income, expenses, budgets, net worth, loans, investments, and goals, with role-based access for household members. Famarth is not a bank, broker, payment institution, or financial advisor. It does not move real money and does not hold funds.
3. Not financial advice
Nothing in this app constitutes financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Figures, projections, and the Financial Health Snapshot are calculated from data you enter and general benchmarks, for informational purposes only. Decisions you make based on them are your own responsibility — consult a qualified professional for advice specific to your situation.
4. Mock bank & investment data
Linked bank accounts and investment holdings are currently entered manually by you. Famarth does not yet connect to real bank or brokerage systems, and balances shown reflect only what's been entered, which may not match your real accounts.
5. Eligibility and accounts
You must be able to form a legally binding agreement to create a household (generally 18+ where you live). A household admin may invite other members, including minors, as household participants with restricted roles — see our Privacy Policy regarding minors' data, and note that the admin inviting a minor is responsible for appropriate consent. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.
6. Household roles and permissions
Famarth enforces four roles — admin, member, restricted, view-only — at the database level. Admins control who's invited and what role they hold. We are not responsible for disputes between household members over data accuracy, deletions, or access changes made by an admin.
7. Acceptable use
Don't use the service for any unlawful purpose, attempt to access another household's data without authorization, reverse-engineer or scrape the service, or use Famarth to enter another person's financial data without their consent.
8. Beta status and availability
This is an early-stage product in private beta. Features may change, break, or be removed without notice. Do not rely on Famarth as your sole record of financial information — keep your own records elsewhere.
9. Fees
Famarth is currently free to use. If we introduce paid plans in the future, we'll notify existing users in advance and update this section with pricing and billing terms before any charge is made. No payment processing exists today.
10. Limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including financial decisions made based on data or calculations shown in the app. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you've paid us in the preceding 12 months (currently zero, as Famarth is free).
11. Termination
You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, or discontinue the beta entirely, with reasonable notice where practicable.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Venue/jurisdiction: city pending — to be finalized once Famarth has a registered business address. If you access Famarth from outside India, you're responsible for compliance with your local laws.
13. Changes
We may update these Terms as the product evolves. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
